Introducing Omega, who has taken Valentine’s Day to its heart, releasing a small new update to its De Ville Mini Trésor women’s collection

If you haven’t yet sensed romantic Valentine’s Day looming on the horizon, today Omega has officially stepped into the role of watchmaking Cupid, unveiling a new line of five new De Ville Mini Trésor models right before our eyes. Do you feel the love yet?
As the name “Mini” suggests, each of the latest Mini De Ville Trésors is characterized by its tiny 26mm size, and the brand presents three models in stainless steel and two in its proprietary 18-karat moonshine gold. True to the Trésor family, each watch features slim and elegant applied Roman numeral indices and is equipped with baton hands. It’s a simple design that only displays the time and date, and the crystal that protects the dial has a slightly curved profile that adds to its overall classic appeal.
With three stainless steel models, the corresponding dial remains the same across the trio: cream Grand Feu enamel with gray Roman numerals. The strap reveals the personality of each watch and you can choose between a black quilted leather strap, a gray alligator strap and a double-wrapped brown leather strap.
With the Moonshine Gold models, the brand has taken the more playful route. Against the backdrop of a cream Grand Feu dial, a model has gone bold with bright red Roman numerals paired with a matching double-wrapped red leather strap. The other model features a champagne gold dial, whose textured surface is designed to imitate silk, along with gold-colored numerals, creating a color palette that is monochromatic yet luxurious.
When you flip these watches over, the brand’s familiar “Her Time” pattern is printed on the caseback – a blooming floral mandala that serves as a sort of homage to the brand’s history of women’s watchmaking, which dates back to the late 19th century. In keeping with the floral motif, the crown itself is printed with a bright red flower and set with a single diamond in the center. In addition, the brand notes that each model is paired with a unique bracelet from its own jewelry collection. Given that we’re firmly in the jewelry watch space here, I think it’s no surprise (sigh) that each of these watches is powered by one of the brand’s quartz movements – the Omega 4061 caliber to be precise.
What we think
It’s not often that I write about releasing a jewelry watch – and I have to admit, I enjoy it!
Although I’m not always the biggest fan of lots of glitter on my watches – color yes, diamonds all over the dial, surprisingly not so much. Still, I’m a little surprised at how much I like the arrangement of the diamonds on the cases of these models. I like the mirrored asymmetry, I like the way the two diamond bands follow the gentle curve of the case curve, and I like the taper in size of each diamond toward the center. And most of all, I appreciate that the dial isn’t glittery, which makes the overall design feel a little more grounded.
No wonder that the cherry red model with the moonshine gold case immediately caught my eye. But the more I looked, the more I found myself liking the other gold-colored model, which was gradually overshadowing my original favorite.
Although not a complete revolution in the already existing line of De Ville Mini Trésors, each of these models brings a little more variety to the range and allows to respond even better to the tastes of the woman (or person!) who wants them ultimately will wear it. They’re elegant, formal, sparkling, and all in all a group of jewelry watches that have plenty of fun quirks despite their timeless appeal. I’m not going to pretend we’re reinventing the wheel here, but all in all, if anyone out there is so generous, I’d be more than happy to open one of these for myself this Valentine’s Day…
