With just a hint of gold (or silver), learn the Nomos Glashütte Orion neomatik New Black Executions | know WatchTime

Start the new watch year in style, Nomos glassworks expands the Orion Watch family with three new automatic versions Orion neomatik New BlackThe Orion neomatik 39 New Blackand that Orion neomatik New 41 Date New Black.

Since the manufacturer introduced its first four timepieces in 1992, the Orion has been a fixture in its collection. The time display is considered a silent star among Nomos timepieces; legend has it that it is even the secret favorite of the brand’s designers. The trademark of this classic right from the start has been the subtly curved, very flat case with elongated lugs, whose striking look is underlined by the also curved sapphire crystal, and the wide dial, which celebrates tasteful minimalism at its finest.

Thanks to this distinguished elegance, complemented by a Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan bracelet, the Orion has become a prime example of an entry-level luxury dress watch over the last three decades and has appealed to many enthusiasts.

The three newcomers differ in size and in the variation of the black dials. While the 36.4 mm Orion neomatik New Black combines eleven gold indices with rhodium-plated hands, the picture is reversed for its larger sibling: the Orion neomatik 41 Date New Black has gold-plated hands on the black dial with rhodium-plated indices.

On the medium-sized version, the Orion neomatik 39 New Black, only the “neomatik” lettering (just like on the other two) shines in gold; otherwise the appearance remains two-tone.

With a height of just 3.2 mm, the slim automatic caliber DUW 3001 powers the two smaller versions, which have a total height of 8.5 and 8.7 mm respectively.

With just 3.2 mm in the Hg caliber, the DUW 6101 is slightly higher at 3.6 mm and also has a black gold date display with double quick adjustment. This means that the Orion neomatik 41 Date is slightly taller at 9.4 mm.

Both manufacture movements are brought to life by exhibition backs and exhibit beautiful build quality, with hardened blue screws, rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte fluting and Nomos Perlage.

The Nomos Orion neomatik New Black retails for $3,580, the Orion neomatik 39 New Black retails for $3,920, and the Orion neomatik New 41 Date New Black retails for $4,200.
